Ati CCC driver?

This is my first post and couldnt find my awnser anywher else.
My problem is that I recently ran a complete overhaul of my DELL C521. I am running 4 gigs of ram and AMD 64 x2 5200. I was running Vista Ultimate x86 with a new ATI brand x1300 pro 256m/b and everything worked perfect with my x1300. When I upgraded my Hard Drive I decided to install Vista x64 to take full advantage. When I first instaled x64 the very first start up failed and I got the BSOD. After letting windows use the VGA Save it is the only way I can have no issues. My system comes with a NVidia geforce 6150 integrated and I have no driver problems but, my ATI will not install any CCC release 7.1-7.8, I get a driver installation error. If I delete all CCC and ATI folders and let windows try to update the driver I get a "Handle Invalid" error. Can anyone help?

Dual display on GeForce 6150

Hi,

I am having a problem connecting a second display to my laptop running vista ultimate 64 with geforce go 6150. I do get the image to display on both monitors, however once in a while both displays blank out for a few seconds and then the image comes back up. I’ve updated the drivers and bios, and that did not help much.

I’d appreciate your input on this.

Thanks,

Windows Password Woes

I finally decided to set a Windows password on my new machine, never having used a password before but also never being at university before. So all is going well, and I set it to one of my most commonly used passwords so I won’t forget it. I lock the computer, then type in my password just to make sure it’s working. It says wrong password. OK, I might’ve mistyped it. I try again, with the same result.

End result, I try the actual password several times, various mistypings of it, some of my other common passwords, and no password whatsoever, and none of them work. I’ve tried rebooting, but to no avail. Safe mode also didn’t help. I only have one partition on the drive, so I can’t simply install Vista Home Premium again on a different partition and move all my files off the drive from there. All I can figure is I either mistyped my password twice in a row on the enter/confirm password dialogue for User Accounts, or Windows corrupted the password.

So does anyone have experience with recovering passwords in this situation? Google has turned up a couple possibilities, but until I buy a few CDs I can’t test them. Unless I can turn my USB drive into a boot USB - it’s a Kingston Data Traveler, USB 2.0 and 2 GB. I don’t necessarily need a quick recovery, but I don’t want to overwrite my files.

Dell Direct Media OS Problem. HELP??!!!

Hello,

I just reinstalled My vostro with Vista Home Premium. Everything worked perfectly until I pressed DellMedia Direct button. I get this message:

Dell MediaDirect Express cannot access your hard drive. This may be because you have enabled Microsoft BitLocker (Drive Encryption). MediaDirect Express is not accessfible when Microsoft Bitlocker is enabled.

Well, I never like Dell. But I can’t go back to Vista OS anymore!!! When I turn off from DellMedia Direct OS. Every time I press power button, dellMedia loads. Wow, I’m really pissed of at Dell because I can’t even get into my OS because of their stupid program that nobody uses.

Help Please!

Wondering if my CPU or Motherboard is fried

The other day, an unusually hot day(and I don’t have AC) My processor (Pentium D 945) temperatures reached 73 degrees C and my motherboard (Intel 965WH) reached 71 degrees when trying to load a new graphic intensive game. I closed the game and the temperatures returned to normal. I turned off the computer for the night to let it cool down. Before I turned the computer on in the morning there was a power outage (so with my computer was off, but still plugged in when the power came back on). I don’t know if it was the overheating or the power outage that caused my problem, but now I am unable to boot my PC. At first the system would run for a little bit and then the motherboard would continuously beep(which means a processor error) so I reseated my processor and reapplied thermal grease(artic silver Ceramique) and reseated my CPU fan (Artic Cooler freezer 7). Now the motherboard gives 4 beeps (which mean it is grounded), but I have looked over it several times and checked many things and I can almost guarantee it is not grounded. I know the easy solution would be switch out the motherboard and then the processor, but I don’t have ones to switch at my disposal. So I am wondering if there is any other way to tell what my problem is and if I have a fried motherboard or processor, before a spend a large chunk of money trying to swap each part out to find the problem.

Thank you very much for your time and any help is greatly appreciated.

Windows Vista Help

I have Windows DVD Maker for Vista. The first time I used this program everything went fine. But last night when I tried to burn my slideshow to a disk it stopped at 99% and ejected the disk saying that it could not burn the disk. I tried again and the same thing happened. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? If it helps I have a TSST corp DVD+-RW TS-L632D ATA Device burner on a Vostro 1500. Thanks

Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW-P

It will boot, I can ge to the BIOS, it will even load to the OS. The HDD light comes on and thats it. The only way to get it to shut down is to turn the PSU off. It’s not the HDD it will even do it with no drives at all. Any ideas? Maybe some software that I can get to test the board from a bootable cd?
